Located in a residential development on the outskirts of Guatemala City, the Lp1 House is located in the high part of a steep terrain surrounded by pine and cypress trees.
The main entrance is located in the highest part of the terrain, and at this level, the bedrooms are located producing certain opacity to preserve privacy. The top floor is an exposed concrete rectangle with this finish inside and out, All the vertical panels are done in treated pine wood with an irregular design that evoques the randomness of the woods around it.
The lower floor is occupied by the social area with mainly glass all around, to have direct contact with the surroundings and nature. Within the family there are 3 small children , so it was important to have contact with the exterior as a playground.
Exposed concrete was used in the interiors, seeking a contrast with the wooden floors and furniture. The Lady of the house is a painter, so she was very interested in the softness of the works of art that would be installed to contrast with the rough finish of the walls.
