The project involves the remodeling of a house in a residential area south of Guatemala City. Requested by young couple of art collectors, the project should combine the daily dynamic open to he inhabitants with a vertical architecture divided in several closed levels with the catalogue of modern art.
There are common spaces that mix the different dynamics of the family in the spaces that join the bedroom area. For the main bedroom a metallic volume was added to also combine with the façade shape at the back of the house, striving to emphasize the intervention to the original house and giving importance to the main bedroom.
The views of the house face toward a hillside east of the property and the purpose was for all spaces to have a visual dialogue with the view. The finishes were changed almost completely and the idea was to generate gray surfaces with cementlike texture to produc natural areas to exhibit the family`s collection of art.
