This house located on a residential area north of Guatemala City thrives to optimize the use of a small piece of land and the existing regulations. Generating a solid façade in order to make it work as a barrier for privacy, ample interior spaces were created, interconnected dynamic and open.
Such strategy produces the feeling of amplitude and connection among the parts. Taking advantage of the hillside in the back of the house all main areas are located at the west, leaving the sights toward the volcanoes and the ecosystem of the hillside.
The house has a parking basement, an open social area facing the street through a monumental sliding door mimicking a barn door repeating it in the kitchen so it can be completely independent. There is a pergola with natural light in the social area and a small garden and jacuzzi. The pergola occupies the whole length of the house to obtain a large area for social interaction with all the elements, light, water, vegetation and soil. 2 bedrooms are located in the higher level a studio/guestroom, a family room that unifies all areas, and a main bedroom that enjoye the view and all the characteristics of the property.
